Welcome to Willerby
Willerby lies in a web of ancient Mercian roads close to the cross of old Watling Street and the Fosse.
We're small, quiet and unremarkable most of the time. There's a pub on the green by the river, a church built on the site of an older temple and a motte and bailey castle on top of the hill where the Roman watch tower used to be.
We bicker and squabble - about dog mess and rights of way and the bins - but we get on well enough most of the time.
But strange things happen here too.
We have more than the usual number of ghosts, aren't firmly tethered in time and are often visited by people from very far away.
We have many stories and you can find them all here, to read or to listen to.
Have a look around.
Stay for a while.
Some of our visitors never leave.
